Major Muffin, Imperial Marine, vs. the Curvaceous Commandos from Contra-Chronos

A Retro-Sci-Fi Novel!

A duplicitous daimyo kidnaps Princess Saeko, the heir to the Chrysanthemum Throne, whereupon the Greater Britannic Empire sends its greatest hero, Imperial Marine Corps Major ‘Stud’ Muffin, to rescue the beautiful princess from a fate worse than death. Aided by his valiant companion, Royal Federated Colonies Airship Service dirigible pilot Captain James T. Smedley, the two overcome overwhelming odds and rescue Saeko, only to enter a maze of extra-dimensional intrigue.

At every turn, Muffin and Smedley confront seemingly unconnected plots involving gorgeous yet mysterious ladies. Major Muffin has no alternative but to blast through any obstacle, regardless of risk, and put paid to any threat to the Empire. Captain Smedley is right behind him, albeit he sometimes lags a bit because of his drinking, hectic social life, and golf games.

What could link schemes to mind-control young lady astronomers at Mauna Kea, construct a continental-wide web of flawed dirigible-navigation aids, and corrupt the sugar-enhanced, but vitamin-packed, breakfast cereals upon which the Empire’s youth have grown to depend? The answer comes during the ultimate confrontation at the penthouse of the majestic Aaron Burr Building in NYC, where the Governor-General’s life, the Empire’s fate, and indeed, their Earth’s destiny, are at stake.

Colonel Muffin, Imperial Marine, and the Wombats of Venus

A Retro-Futurist Alternate-Earth Adventure

The heroic Colonel Muffin and his sidekick, dashing dirigible pilot James Smedley, had defeated the Clone Commandos from Contra-Chronos. They deserved every accolade a grateful Greater Britannic Empire could bestow, including, for Muffin, marriage to the beautiful Princess Saeko of the Chrysanthemum Empire. Unfortunately, Brittain’s Princess Margaret also yearned to marry Colonel Muffin ever since he rescued her from a fate worse than death. She’s even suggested that her Pop-Pop declare war on Kyoto and make Muffin a widower.

Margaret’s mystified she can’t find another genuine man, and must instead seek solace in tanning, golfing, and cask-conditioned real ale. Neither she nor our heroes realize the world faces demographic collapse as the shadowy, multiverse-conquering Ariosophic Sisterhood’s centuries-in-train plan to drain Earth’s men of masculinity nears fruition.

Muffin and Smedley must battle Australian pirates, tame desert revolts, and fly a rackety space-traveling dirigible to ever-shrouded Venus. There, they and Margaret must forge a rag-tag army of crossbowwomen and three-ton wombats into the weapon to defeat the Sisterhood’s Venusian hirelings. But Margaret’s Pop-Pop’s heart is failing, and if the stalwart duo and Margaret can’t somehow return to England before her grandfather’s death, Earth could still fall into the Ariosophic Sisterhood’s grasping claws.
